The World Zone adopts triple block time control

Our Head Tournament Director IA Juan Martello (ARG) announces that the World Zone has adopted the Triple Block system as time control for all of its tournaments.

The Triple Block system was designed to improve on the classic time control allowing more accurate tournament duration and simplification of rules.

The explanation of how it works is presented here.

The tournament duration will be 600 days for the following events:

  • Promotion: Open class, Higher class and Master class
  • Zonal: Preliminaries and Semifinals

All other events will have a duration of 700 days (about 2 years).
