1st Open Tournament Capablanca IM

To honor José Raúl Capablanca Graupera in the centenary of his successful getting the title of World Champion of Chess.

Game platform: ICCF web server

International Open divided into two sections (classification list 2021-1)

• Main Section: For players with a rating higher than 2250, without categories. Players will be grouped in strict order of rating into sections of 11-13 players.

• Promotional Section: For players with a rating of 2250 or less, without categories. Players will be grouped in strict order of rating into sections of 7-13 players.

Organizer: Cuban Postal Chess Federation (FECAP)

Time control: Triple Block (400)

A time of reflection guaranteed of 3 days after the movement 50 it is applied.

This tournament allows claims based on a seven-piece finals basis.

Date of upload to the ICCF web server: March 10 to March 15, 2021.

Official start date: March 31, 2021.**

Prizes: They are paid by PayPal only.

– 40 EUROS for the winner of each section in groups 0.

– 30 EUROS for the winner of each section in groups 1 to 3.

– 25 EUROS to the winner of each section in groups 4 to 6.

– 20 EUROS for the winner of each section in groups 7 to 13.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1.- NUMBER OF TICKETS PER PLAYER: Each player can purchase a MAXIMUM OF TWO TICKETS. The first ticket will be used for their main tournament by Rating.
The Second Entry will be destined to an EXTRA Tournament, also by Rating.

2.- REGISTRATION CLOSURE: March 5, 2021 for main tournaments that are completed with their maximum number of participants.

3.- TOURNAMENTS WILL BE UPLOADED TO THE ICCF WEB SERVER: Between March 10 and 15, 2021, the main tournaments that are completed with their maximum number of Participants.

4.- REGISTRATION EXTENSION: From March 5, until completing the Maximum or Minimum of Participants per Main or EXTRA Tournament only, which will be immediately uploaded to the ICCF web server as soon as it is completed.

5.- ORDERING AND STRUCTURING OF THE TOURNAMENTS: Both in the main groups 0 to 13 and in the EXTRAS groups 0 to 13, the strict order of Rating will be respected. In cases of equal qualification, the title will prevail first and then the highest number of finished games.

6.- JUMPINGS IN THE FINAL POSITION TABLE: The order of the final positions will be defined by the highest number of accumulated points. If the tie persists, the following tiebreaker criteria will be used, in this order.
a) Number of wins (Baumbach system);
b) Sonneborn Berger.
c) If the tie persists and is between 2: The result between the two, if it was a draw, will favor whoever played black.
If the tie persists and is between more than 2: The one with the highest rating is favored. If after this there are 2 left, the result between both is used, and if it was a draw, whoever played with black will be favored.

Money prizes are awarded according to the definition of the tiebreakers set out here.
